Only Fools and Horses is an award winning British sitcom created and written by the late John Sullivan OBE. The show ran for 7 series from 1981-1991 and included Christmas special episodes, the last of which aired in 2003. A special Sport Relief episode starring David Beckham aired in March 2014. Episodes are regularly repeated on UKTV’s Gold channel.
Set in Peckham, South London, the series starred Sir David Jason as wheeler dealer market trader Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter, Nicholas Lyndhurst as his hapless younger brother Rodney, and Lennard Pearce as their elderly Grandad. After Lennard Pearce died in 1984, Del and Rodney’s Great Uncle Albert, played by Buster Merryfield, made up the trio. Backed by a strong supporting cast of memorable and much loved characters (Trigger, Boycie, Marlene etc) the series chronicles the Trotters’ attempt to realise their dream of one day becoming millionaires.
